Fibrus is making significant strides in transforming the fibre broadband landscape across Northern England and Ireland. As of August 2023, their coverage is around 300,000 premises, a notable increase from 250,000 in March 2022. With investments exceeding £500 million, Fibrus is committed to enhancing broadband connectivity in rural and regional areas, particularly in Northern Ireland and Northern England.
The company has secured a further investment of £220 million to extend its rollout in Northern Ireland, aiming to reach 330,000 premises. Moreover, Fibrus sets an ambitious target to pass one million premises in the next three years, with plans to expand its coverage in England and Scotland as well.
As part of its expansion into Great Britain, Fibrus has revealed a £200 million investment plan, targeting to connect 113,000 premises by 2025, starting with Cumbria. This expansion will include 40 towns and villages in the area, promising enhanced connectivity and over 200 new job opportunities.
