Switch from Sky Broadband

How to switch away from Sky broadband while potentially keeping your Sky TV subscription.

Switching from Sky is Simple

Sky uses the Openreach network (same as BT, EE, Plusnet, etc.), which means switching to another Openreach provider is handled automatically through the One Touch Switch system.

Simply sign up with your new provider and they'll handle cancelling your Sky broadband. You don't need to contact Sky to cancel - though you may want to if you have questions about your final bill.

If switching to Virgin Media, the process is slightly different as they use a separate cable network.

Steps to Switch from Sky

  • Check Contract: Log into My Sky to see your contract end date.
  • One Touch Switch: Sign up with your new provider - they'll handle cancellation.
  • Keep Sky TV: You can keep Sky TV even if you switch broadband providers.
  • Return Equipment: Send back the Sky router in the provided packaging.
  • Keep Your Number: Tell your new provider if you want to port your number.
  • Final Bill: Sky will send a final bill for any outstanding charges.

Can I Keep Sky TV?

Yes! Your Sky TV subscription is completely separate from your broadband. You can switch to a different broadband provider while keeping your Sky TV package.

Sky TV uses satellite (or Sky Glass uses internet), so it doesn't depend on which broadband provider you use. You'll just receive separate bills.

Note: You may lose any bundle discounts you were receiving for having both Sky TV and Sky Broadband together.
