Black Friday BT Full Fibre 100 was absolutely FREE for the first 3 months, followed by a reasonable £34.99 per month for the remaining 21 months of the contract. It’s important to note that BT increases its prices annually by inflation (CPI) + 3.9%. This increase applies to customers using the service both within and outside of the 24-month contract (note there is a much more expensive 12-month contract).
There was no additional postage and packaging cost and it comes with all the standard features of BT’s Full Fibre 100 package including; 150 Mbps download speed (perfect for streaming and downloading without limits) and 3 times faster than the full Fibre 1 package. In fact, there’s a 100Mb Stay Fast Guarantee which ensures smooth and efficient broadband at all times. It also comes with a 30 Mbps upload speed (great for maintaining a stable connection on Teams and Zoom calls to the office, or emailing large files to colleagues). Purchasing BT Full Fibre 100 means that you also receive free security software including BT Web Protect and BT Virus Protect, as well as parental controls.
Bear in mind that BT is the most widely used provider in the UK, so while there may be better deals out they’re not available to everyone. BT currently covers 10.3 million homes and businesses with full fibre, including 3.1 million in rural areas. That said, its contracts do tend to be longer and a bit more expensive than others at a similar speed range, and if those deals happen to be in your area that’s worth checking out. Competing packages at this 100-150 Kbps range include Shell Energy Full Fibre 100 with 109 Mbps average download for £26.99 on a 12-month contract and £42.74 out of contract. This package is a sweet spot in terms of speed and price, and in our opinion, it’s perfect for most users, particularly households with 2-4 occupants including families who watch streaming channels like Netflix, and Amazon Prime and households with several devices where kids (and adults) enjoy a bit of gaming.
