Sky Broadband Review
Sky is best known for TV, but their broadband is a solid option - especially if you're already a Sky TV customer.
Sky Broadband Overview
Sky Broadband uses the Openreach network (same as BT, Plusnet, etc.) to deliver their service. This means coverage is excellent, but the underlying technology is the same as competitors.
Where Sky really shines is in bundling - if you want Sky TV, bundling broadband makes a lot of sense. The combined packages offer good value, and having one bill for TV and broadband is convenient.
Their Ultrafast and Gigafast full fibre options are competitive, offering up to 900 Mbps where FTTP is available.
Sky Broadband Pros
- ✓TV Integration: Seamless bundling with Sky TV packages.
- ✓Sky Q/Glass: Advanced TV technology included in bundles.
- ✓Reliable Service: Good uptime and consistent speeds.
- ✓Sky VIP: Loyalty rewards for long-term customers.
- ✓Full Fibre Options: Ultrafast and Gigafast packages available.
- ✓UK Support: UK-based customer service team.
Things to Consider
Value Standalone: Broadband-only not the best value.
Openreach Network: Same network as cheaper providers.
Upload Speeds: Standard asymmetric speeds.
Contract Terms: Long contract commitments required.
Our Verdict
Sky Broadband is best suited for existing Sky TV customers who want the convenience of bundling. The combined TV and broadband packages offer good value.
For broadband-only customers, you can find better value elsewhere on the same Openreach network. Consider BT, EE, or Plusnet for standalone broadband.
